Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
RideAware Moto Routes helps motorcycle riders plan weather-aware routes, save routes, and record rides. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and how users can request deletion.
Information We Collect
RideAware may collect or process the following information when you use the app:
- Account information: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers through Firebase Authentication.
- Location information: current location, route start/end points, route coordinates, and ride tracking points when you use route planning or ride recording features.
- Ride and route data: saved routes, completed rides, ride distance, duration, speed metrics, curve information, timestamps, and sync status.
- Weather and route context: weather samples and route risk information used to help riders plan rides.
- Device and app data: basic app diagnostics, sync errors, and technical information needed to operate and improve the app.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide route planning, weather along route, ride recording, and saved route features.
- Sync your saved routes and ride history across devices when you are signed in.
- Improve app reliability, troubleshoot bugs, and maintain the service.
- Protect user accounts and prevent misuse.
Location Data
Location data is used to plan routes, show your position on the map, record rides, and calculate ride statistics. If ride recording is active, location may continue to be used while the app is in the background so the ride can be recorded correctly.
You can control location permissions from your Android device settings. Some app features may not work if location permission is disabled.
Third-Party Services
RideAware uses third-party services to provide core app functionality:
- Firebase: authentication, cloud database, and cloud sync.
- Mapbox: maps, route display, and map-related features.
- Weather API providers: weather information used for route planning.
These services may process data according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Data Storage and Sync
RideAware stores some data locally on your device for offline access and sync reliability. If you are signed in, saved routes and ride history may also be stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore under your user account.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with service providers needed to operate the app, comply with legal obligations, or protect the app and users.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your account, routes, and ride data are kept while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data.
To request deletion, visit the Account Deletion page or contact us at ga.damasin@gmail.com.
Children's Privacy
RideAware is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect user data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
